Today marks the official first day of summer vacation for us. Whoo hoo! We are so excited and already have so much planned for our time off. It is sure to be a blast! This summer on the blog you will be able to follow along with us as we grow and harvest foods from our backyard gardens, create fun summer crafts, and play along with us as we show you some of our favorite outdoor games. We also have one other amazing opportunity we would like to “officially” share with you today.
Drum Roll Please. . . .
This summer Raising Dick and Jane will be embarking on a new travel series here on the blog. We have plans to travel the great mitten state and bring you tons of information on all of the wonderful places to visit here in Michigan. You all know that Michigan has beautiful beaches, serene forests and great attractions, but do you know where the best places to vacation with your kids are? Me neither, but I am going to find out. This summer I am hoping to take the guess work out of taking a trip with your kids with my first hand “mom-tested” vacation spot reviews and tips on traveling. Need to know what attractions are worth your time and what restaurants have dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets? I am going to find out for you so when you pack your bags you are ready for a stress free vacation (as stress free as a vacation with kids can be)!
Curious what cities are on our hot spot list? So far we have plans to visit Frankenmuth, Holland and Mackinac Island, MI. We may still be adding a few more, so keep an eye out on our facebook page for up to date schedule changes. We are so happy to help promote our home state of Michigan and want to thank all of the above mentioned cities for working with us to help bring this series to you. They have been really wonderful in helping us find the best family focused spots.
Do you have love for Michigan too? As part of our kick off to summer we are partnering up with Design Turnpike to bring you a chance to win your very own piece of Michigan. Design Turnpike creates amazing works of art by piecing together old license plates from around the USA. At their site you can purchase original works of art, prints, postcards, wall stickers and more all featuring their trademark vintage license plate designs. These would make a great fathers day gift too, don’t you think? By entering below you can enter to win your very own framed Michigan license plate art print like the one shown below. A super BIG thank you to Design Turnpike for offering to host this giveaway with us.
I’m interested in hearing from you! What’s your favorite Michigan kid friendly vacation spot? Tell us about your favorite Michigan vacation memory.
