This Halloween, take a step back in time. Go for a ride on a Ferris wheel, Venetian swing or a 1912 carousel. Go trick or treating among vintage buildings, homes and businesses. Watch a magician perform in an opera house built in 1869 or take a train ride through skeleton inhabited woods.
You might ask, where on earth can you walk down a dirt road and find yourself magically transported back into the 1800’s? Have you ever heard of Crossroads Village? It’s a gem! My family has been making the trip out to visit Crossroads Village ever since I was a little girl. In fact, when I was a little girl I used to sing Christmas carols in the chapel during the holiday season and my mom remembers buying penny candy from the old candy store next to the post office when she was a little girl just before the building was moved into the village. Each one of the beautiful buildings in this village is part of history and have been moved here to help preserve and save these intricate treasures from inevitable demolition.
Every holiday, including Halloween, Crossroads village decorates the streets and buildings to welcome people from all over to enjoy the simplicity of the season. The Halloween season at Crossroads Village is perfect fun for any age. Just be sure to purchase your tickets for the park and train ahead of time because they most often sell out. Visit the Crossroads Village website for departure times and dates.
