This post idea has been sponsored by Lilly Miller, a seed company that I respect and use and wanted to share with you. All thoughts are my own.
Most people wouldn’t think that July would be prime time for seed starting, but it is! I’m not talking about starting annuals or vegetables though. What I am talking about is perennials. Did you know that if you get your perennial seeds started now (either indoors or direct sow) and get your transplants into the ground by August you should see them ready to come back in the spring?
– Its cheaper. Buying perennial plants can cost you around $12-$25 per pot while seeds are only about $2-$3 per package. Plus each package can produce several plants.
– Seed started plants are usually hardier than potted plants.
– Its fun! There is something self gratifying about planting a seed and watching it sprout into a living plant. Plus, kids love it!
We just started our Lilly Miller perennial seeds today and the kids are already excited about seeing the sprouts pop through! Do you want to be the first to see when they sprout? Follow along on our Instagram page and share our enjoyment as we watch them grow.
Now its your turn! We have partnered with Lilly Miller, my favorite seed company, to help one of you get started on your own perennial plants. All you need to do to win is enter below. Its easy!
