I have always had a place in my heart for succulents. Aside from the fact that they need little to no water or care, they also remind me of cactus and my time spent in the Nevada desert during my younger year travels. During one trip with my sister and our husbands (for my first wedding anniversary) we visited a chocolate factory that had its own cacti gardens. The gardens were lovely. I wandered through them for hours, stopping only to rest on a bench while I ate handmade chocolates filled with liquor. Quite a decadent relaxation session.
I fell in love with cacti during this trip.
So this weekend, as my husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary, I planted these succulents as a reminder. Not only as a reminder of the day we wed, but also as a reminder that we need to start traveling again; this time with our kids.
Like this succulent garden, many of the different designs in my home have been inspired by things I’ve found or seen while traveling. Incorporating these things into my everyday life reminds me and makes me happy.
