1 can chick peas
4 cloves of garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tablespoons tahini
1 lemon – squeezed to extract the juice
2 tablespoons olive oil or water
6 dashes of Tabasco Original Red
dash of cumin, red pepper flake, paprika
1/4 tablespoon minced garlic
Begin by draining and rinsing the chick peas and then place them in a food processor along with the garlic cloves, salt, tahini, lemon juice, and Tabasco. Process the mixture for several seconds. While blending, slowly add in the olive oil (or water) until you reach your desired consistency. Scoop the mixture into your desired serving dish and with a spoon create a small well in the center of the hummus. Within this well, pour a teaspoon of olive oil, a 1/4 tablespoon of minced garlic and a dash of cumin, red pepper flake and paprika to garnish. Serve with fresh pita chips.
