Today we’re making homemade apple chips and it couldn’t be easier! Watch our recipe video and enjoy!
It’s not every day we spend time in the kitchen together making something homemade – so when we do it’s usually a lot of fun. Today, the kids wanted to do something they’ve wanted to do for quite a while – make a cooking video. Seriously, these kids spend any time we give them on electronics watching kid chefs on YouTube. They’ve anxiously watched and waited as kids competed on cooking shows while dreaming the whole time that it was them.
It’s adorable.
So today, for no other reason than because the kids wanted to do this – we made a cooking video. We hope that you love it as much as we loved making it and if you want the recipe, you can find it down below.
Thanks for humoring us and enjoy! 🙂
Homemade Apple Chips Recipe
Ingredients:
3-5 apples
1 & 1/2 teaspoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat oven to 225 degrees (F).
Either spray your baking sheet with baking oil or line it with parchment paper to prevent the apple chips from sticking.
Wash and slice the apples into very thin slices – using a mandoline is best to achieve the super thin apple slices.
Mix together the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl.
Coat the apple slices sparingly with the sugar mixture and place them in a single layer on a cookie sheet.
Bake for 30 minutes – 1 hr or until the edges curl up slightly and begin to brown. Cooking time will depend on how thin you get the slices. You may even need to add extra time if your slices are thicker.
Place the baked apple chips on a cooling rack to cool.
Once they cool completely they should crunch like potato chips. Enjoy!
