Huge thank you to Nissan for providing my transportation and accommodations during the Chicago Auto Show press preview!
Here’s a little secret, I absolutely love auto shows! The glitz, the glamour, the shopping! Yes, I said shopping! Auto shows are a great opportunity to shop for your next vehicle without the pressure of having to buy. It’s actually really nice to casually stroll around the show browsing all of the different colors, tech options, and getting the opportunity to sit in each vehicle to test out its comfort levels. Can you see why I love it?
Today I am going to take you on a virtual tour of the 2018 Chicago Auto Show. It had everything I mentioned above (that I love) plus more!
Join Me at the Chicago Auto Show
The Chicago Auto Show is a great place to dive into the world of auto shows. It’s such a large exhibit space that nothing really feels cluttered or crammed together – leaving plenty of space to truly enjoy the experience! What an experience it was too!! Let’s take a look at everything the Chicago Auto Show had to enjoy, starting with Nissan (my brand partner for this event).
Nissan Takes Us Outdoors
If you are one to enjoy the great outdoors than you might want to check out what Nissan has on their roster this year! Their vehicles included amazing vehicles for camping, off-roading, and a reason to enjoy the chill of winter.
Seriously ya’ll, they even made their booth snow indoors!! Check out this amazing display of cars housed under the falling snow. “Swoon”
And don’t forget to watch for bears! 🙂 My friend Becky at Week99er and I took a moment to chill out in the Nissan booth among the stars.
FORD Belts Out the Blues
During the press preview at the Chicago Auto Show, Ford decided to wow the audience with a surprise appearance by Jim Belushi. He even sang “Sweet Home Chicago” while they unveiled their latest vehicles. Talk about making a great first impression, Ford!! That was fun!
Toyota Brings a Showstopper
Remember when I said browsing car colors is something I enjoy? Well, Toyota undoubtedly caught my eye with this bright turquoise blue color on the 2018 CH-R. What a show stopper! Am I right?
Beyond the cars being showcased, Toyota was also able to draw in quite a crowd with their ride-n-drive exhibit. Want to feel the thrill of racing down a straightaway in the all-new Toyota Camry? You could do that indoors at the Chicago Auto Show alongside a professional driver. So cool!!
Kia Gets Drool-Worthy
Kia also came with a fun ride-n-drive experience and the beautiful new Kia Stinger to ogle over. Just be sure to bring something to wipe up your drool. This baby is hot!
Hyundai Picks up Pace
Hyundai decided to make their booth at the Chicago Auto Show all about speed this year! In fact, they took their focus to the racetrack by showcasing an interactive video game for guests to try their hand at circling the track. Then, Hyundai impressed us all as they announced their partnership with two professional racecar drivers who will be taking to the track in the i30n TCR. I can’t wait to follow along with this vehicles adventures!
Jeep Makes Tracks
Next came Jeep – I had a blast at this booth! During the Chicago Auto Show Jeep set up an indoor off-road track that was totally fun. Take a look! Don’t mind all my giggles – I really love off-roading. 🙂
Things to Geek Out About
Sure, the Chicago Auto Show had a ton of awesome new vehicles to discover but it also gave me plenty of reasons to geek out! Take for instance the totally awesome Nissan Star Wars vehicle! Ahh! So cool!
Finally, I can’t forget to mention the classics. Be-a-u-tiful!!
As you can see – the Chicago Auto Show is the place to be!! Have you ever been? Tell me your favorite part in the comments below.
Where to Stay If You’re Coming to the Show
Another reason the Chicago Auto Show is such a great event to attend is that it’s extremely accommodating to out of towners! There are, in fact, two hotels attached to the convention center making a weekend at the Chicago Auto Show incredibly do-able! These hotels are the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place and the Mariott Marquis Chicago.
The best part about staying in one of these hotels is that you don’t even have to go outside to pass in between the show and the hotel! As you can tell by the photo I took out the window, it was a really good thing we didn’t have to trek outside during my stay!
The Chicago Auto Show runs Feb. 10-19, 2018 at the McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.
Tickets are $13 for adults, $7 for seniors and children ages 7-12, and free for those 0-6 years of age.
