If you’ve been part of my Instagram family recently, you’ve possibly noticed my regularly updated “Book Club” highlights. Each time I crack open a new book, I post a picture or share a little bit about it in the stories. For those of you who enjoy finding new must-read books of summer or enjoy sharing your opinion about books you’ve read with others, this is exactly where you need to be!
Psst! You can also give your opinion of the summer reading list books directly on my “Book Club” stories or help me pick which book is added to the list next! Not yet following me on Instagram? Find me here!
What is the Summer 2019 Reading List?
During the summer months, this list will be updated with the top “must-read” books of the season! If a book is listed here, I’ve recently read it and think you should too!

Ok, here we go!
The Top Must-Read Books of Summer!
1 . The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah
The Great Alone is one of those books that you simply cannot put down! While reading it, I was consumed with the lives of the characters and what would happen next! This book made me laugh, cry (ok, SOB), cheer, and often grimace.
If you like stories of love, hate, finding freedom, and 1970’s culture, The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah is a must-read book of summer!
2. Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
If you consider yourself a “creative” person, this book can be a nice nudge to make the most of your talents! It formulates practical advice for discovering your creativity, turning it into fruit, and not feeling bad for doing it (even if people don’t like it).
3. Start Where You Are by Meera Lee Patel
Do you ever feel like you don’t recognize yourself or aren’t quite sure if you’re on the right path? Taking the time to really think about who I am and where I’m going has regrettably been pushed to the side as other important tasks take precedence.
This summer, I’ve been on a journey to remember who I am and what I want. This book has helped me with that goal. Here’s how: each night before bed, I answer one or two of the questions in this book. They range from easy questions about what is important to me in life to harder ones that make me think about my past, present, and future. I then write down my answers on the page space provided and go back to read my answers when I need a reminder of life I want to create.
Totally recommend this book to anyone looking to take a little time to themselves for reflection and goal setting!
