It Isn’t Like the Other Family-Friendly SUV’s, It’s a Cool SUV!
I’m not saying that other SUV’s aren’t cool. All I’m saying is that the 2020 Acura MDX definitely deserves a closer look.
Last week, during a conference with A Girls Guide to Cars, I had the chance to explore the 2020 Acura MDX while I got out and explored the city at the same time. On the outside, the MDX showed classic style. The type of style that would definitely fit in with the other SUVs in the carpool lane. It had smooth lines and certainly appeared to have it all together. However, from the drivers seat, I could see what other’s couldn’t. Sure, this vehicle was totally functional as a family-friendly SUV, but on the inside, it had a surprisingly edgy soul. The type of soul that has a red accented interior, sport performance heart, and paddle shifters on the steering wheel!
3rd Row Flexibility Let’s You Go From Groceries to Girls Night Out
From the outside, the Acura MDX doesn’t look very large. This was great because big cars and I don’t usually mix, especially in tight city parking spots. But this seemed manageable. The perfect size for a mid-sized family and their pets or a car full of friends for a night on the town.
Although, what I really loved was the ability to easily toggle between the two. When more cargo space is needed, simply fold the third row down and out of the way. Girls are all heading out to dinner? Simply pop up the third row and all ride together!
Paddle Shifters, Sport Performance, and a Fiercely Red Interior? What?
The Acura MDX, with red accented interior, is an SUV that I could totally see myself buying. Why? Because it has the space and comfort to meet my families needs, but it also wouldn’t slow me down for a second when heading out with friends. Totally, yes, let’s take my car!
Just for starters, the 2020 Acura MDX AWD A-Spec that I drove last week came equipped with a 290 hp 3.5-Liter V6 engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission. But that’s not all, it also came with sport pedals and paddle shifters on the steering wheel! My family van never had that…
Creating a Safe Place to Be Yourself
Beyond creating a sportier SUV, Acura also added several features to keep you safer while you drive. And while we all strive to be safe and attentive drivers, we’re not perfect.
For this reason, I always look for vehicles with a road departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist, among other features. All of which, by the way, come standard on every 2020 MDX. This added safety is offered through a set of advanced safety features called AcuraWatch. Be sure to check it out!
Acura ELS Studio Premium Audio System Bringing a Personalized Concert Experience in Your Car
Even though the Acura MDX has space, sport, safety, and rock-n-roll style, in order to be the whole package, it also needs great sound. Music is one of those things that helps people understand who you are on the inside. Thankfully, the Acura ELS Studio Premium Audio System included in the AWD A-Spec package helped me share that part of me well.
So what did we listen to on our ride through Atlanta? Well, we all connected our phones via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to share our favorite playlists with each other.
And with two USB ports in the front and two in the second row, we were able to keep everyone phone charged and ready to capture all the fun photo opportunities we discovered around the city. Anyone up for some “Walking Dead” filming locations?
Make sure you don’t miss all of the fun photos we took around the city of Atlanta! Head on over to Instagram and use #GirlsDrive2019 to catch up on all of the fun!
A big thanks to Acura and A Girls Guide to Cars for allowing me to drive this vehicle around the city of Atlanta. This event was hosted by A Girls Guide to Cars. All opinions are my own.
